Aims & Scope
Annals of Critical Care & Medicine (ACCM) is a peer-reviewed, open-access critical care medicine journal published by Directive Publications for intensivists, critical care nurses, anesthesiologists, emergency physicians, and translational researchers. The journal advances evidence-based care of the critically ill across the full continuum of intensive care medicine, from resuscitation and stabilization through organ support, recovery, and post-ICU outcomes.
We publish original research, systematic reviews, clinical guidelines, observational studies, randomized trials, and case reports spanning sepsis and septic shock, mechanical and non-invasive ventilation, acute respiratory distress syndrome, ICU delirium, sedation and analgesia, acute kidney injury and renal replacement therapy, hemodynamic monitoring, multiorgan dysfunction, neurocritical care, post-transplant intensive care, trauma and surgical critical care, and emergency and perioperative medicine.
Methodological and translational work is welcome, including clinical-trial methodology, predictive modeling and risk scores, quality-improvement and patient-safety studies, and bench-to-bedside physiology relevant to the critically ill patient.
Every accepted manuscript undergoes double-blind peer review, is published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY 4.0) license with authors retaining copyright, and receives a permanent Crossref DOI. Content is discoverable through OpenAlex and Google Scholar and harvestable via the journal's OAI-PMH endpoint, ensuring lasting citability and global reach.
