Transparent, open-access publishing costs — with waivers so cost is never a barrier.
As an open-access publisher, we make every article free to read. To sustain rigorous peer review, professional editing and production, DOI registration, discovery, and permanent archiving, an Article Processing Charge (APC) may apply to accepted manuscripts.
APCs vary by journal and article type. For the current applicable fee for a specific journal, please contact our editorial office at editorial@directivepublications.org or refer to the journal’s page. The applicable charge is communicated transparently before acceptance, and there are no submission fees — charges apply only to accepted articles.
Charges become payable only after a manuscript has been accepted following peer review. Editorial decisions are made independently of payment and are never influenced by an author’s ability to pay.
We are committed to equitable access to publishing. Full or partial waivers are available to authors who lack funds, including those from low-income settings. Requests should be made at submission; see our Waiver & Refund Policy for eligibility and process.
Where an APC applies, payment instructions are provided after acceptance. An itemised receipt is available on request.
APCs are charged on acceptance and are refundable in defined circumstances — for example, rejection before peer review is completed, or duplicate payment. See our full Refund Policy for details. Authors facing financial hardship should review our Waiver Policy before submitting.
